Posted on: Sunday, October 27, 2002------------ Mary's funeral was in Northern Ireland earlier this month, but many of us wanted a mass in the states for her as well. The House of Ireland and Pride of Erin have arranged for the eucharist at the San Diego Mission de Alcala's All Souls Day mass to be dedicated to Mary. If you would like to mark her passing with a mass, we invite you to attend. The mass will be in the cobblestone church in the old San Diego Mission de Alcala this Saturday Morning, November 2, at 9:00 am. Monseigneur Mark Campbell will be leading the service. There will be a reception afterwards in the adjacent hall. For directions, go to the Mission Web Site since they can explain it much better than I can. If you plan on staying for the reception, please bring something baked to share. Thanks, and please spread the word of this mass to anyone who might have known Mary and would like to attend.
Posted on: Wednesday, October 09, 2002------------ Sad, sad news. Mary Tierney, co-founder of the Pride of Erin, passed away this past Saturday. She is survived by her husband, Jim Tierney. If anybody wants to send cards to Jim, this address will be posted here for two weeks. Then I will remove it to protect Jim's privacy. The Irish community is planning to have a memorial mass, and the date will be posted here.
Be sure to check out the Feis link. The Harvest Time Feis is this weekend, October 12th and 13th, and there will be a ceili Saturday night.
